The Owl Story Bookstore - A Wise Choice When in Lagos

Any readers visiting Lagos in Portugal will be delighted to find a wonderful second hand bookshop called “The Owl Story” which offers a huge range of very reasonably priced second hand books across many genres.
The couple running the bookshop are as interesting as the shop itself. John and Christine Westropp are happy to share their own story with customers and it is a fascinating one which I will leave you to discover for yourself!
One snippet of their story is their connection to Ireland. It appears that one of John’s ancestors (M.S.D. Westropp) was a keeper of antiquities in Dublin for many years and wrote what is still recognised as the definitive book on old Irish silver.

maybe as you stroll around Lagos looking for it, you will be charmed
by the very interesting murals which adorn many of its buildings, including this one of a cute little boy painted on a private house.
